Luxury Resort Hotel
Flanked on one side by the village of Capri and an opulent pool and gardens on the other, it's the most recognized luxury hotel in Capri. The structure was originally constructed as a sanatorium in 1845, with a more muted interpretation of the ornate Italian style that is seen today. Behind the fancy flagged facade lies a full service resort hotel with restaurant, spa and social structure all its own between June and August of every year. The lobby and pool are one of Capri's best-attended tourist attractions as day-trippers from Sorrento and Naples scout photo angles amongst the loungers of rich and semi-famous guests. The Quisi pool is a whimsical scene of old-world attitude as Euro-elite vie for loungers with new Russian money and American aristocracy looking to recreate La Dolce Vita.
The Room
Many guests are ill prepared for the modest accommodations that await them in the smaller room categories. Anything below a junior suite offer intimate yet modest space with a modern interpretation Capri design. Stylish decor with marble floors, chandeliers and white couches overlook the main village or gardens and pool. Guest rooms range at the higher end of the spectrum are indeed lavish, with arched ceilings and sitting areas overlooking patios and private outdoor areas. The hotel features full marble baths with signature bath products as well as accessories touting the highly-regarded spa.
